About me:

I am a sound designer, engineer, and composer based in Chicago and I recently received my BFA in Sound Design from The Theatre School at DePaul University. In my work I combine my experience in the recording and live amplification of new work and site-specific performances with my knowledge and experience in musicals and live theatre. This experience in varying uses of sound in performance has instilled in me a curiosity and fascination with new ways of thinking about and using technology to facilitate the connection between the performers and the audience.

To support the world of the show I enjoy experimenting and discovering creative ways to solve problems—both technical and artistic. Using emerging sound technologies to find novel ways to tell stories is exciting to me since, as technology advances there are more and more unique and exciting ways to support, amplify and manipulate how the audience perceives and experiences a live performance. In my work I find joy and satisfaction in creating designs where—through thoughtful and inventive system design, cueing and content creation—the artifice of microphones, speakers and other technology disappears so the audience can connect with the performers and become fully immersed in the world of the show.
